jersualem-based student rami tareef has created ‘COD project’ as his final project at the bezalel academy of art and design. drawing from the tradition of wicker and woven furniture, this five-piece seating collection combines values of craftsmanship with those of contemporary design.

the project’s hybridization of these approaches to production are evident in its planning and execution processes: the angular frames of the chairs were sketched, rendered on CAD, then built in increasingly larger scale models. these then provided structural support for weaving the seat textiles, which were created with intricate layers of cords.
