japanese studio torafu architects have expanded their ‘airvase’ series to include two new patterns ‘gradation’ and ‘cubed’. the design is a flat-packed bowl, the thin and lightweight paper vessels gaining their tension and strength when expanded and pulled out.

the cubed pattern ‘airvase’ have been developed for french brand cinna, and features a geometric pattern that is formed from delicate line work, that appears either as flat or three dimensional. the action of expanding and compacting the object in a variety of ways, allows one enjoy the ever-changing patterns it can offer.

with red decorating one side and blue, green and brown on the other, theses main colors fade into softer shades which results in a gradually dissolving geometric pattern.
