'powerwise' designed by johanna strand and åsa elmstam has a green cord as a symbol of reduced consumption

mp3-players, cameras, cell phones and other hand-held devices have become an essential part of our lifestyles. 
with that comes the need to constantly recharge and make sure those mobile devices are ready to use at any time.
because these gadgets need to be frequently recharged, there is a tendency for users to leave those chargers
plugged into the wall which not only consumes a lot of electricity, but can also be a fire hazard.

swedish designers johanna strand and åsa elmstam have collaborated and have come up with a solution that could
remedy this problem. powerwise is a table which also acts as a charging station. it houses eight electrical outlets
which are hidden within the box-like, lidded table top. the entire unit can be plugged into the wall, with each internal
outlet having its own on-off power switch so individuals can leave electronics plugged in and shut-off even when they
are not in use. when nothing is being charged, the 'powerwise' can be unplugged from the wall and its electrical
cord hidden in one of the table's legs.


the 'powerwise' unit has eight electrical outlets to accommodate all your hand-held electronic devices


each electrical outlet has its own on-off switch so that chargers can remain plugged-in even when they aren't in use


when closed, 'powerwise' hides any unsightly cords
