based on the belief that works of art should be transformational, joe doucet has created the ‘loverboy series’ for new york’s dune showroom. the hand-cut, angled mirror sections don’t simply reflect their environments, but they also manipulate them in a way that reveals unforeseen views. this skewed representation allows anyone standing in front of the constructs to see multiple perspectives all at once, taking in more colors, and more shapes to enhance their awareness. when placed within a setting, the faceted systems also have the ability to project light towards areas of rooms that would otherwise be hidden in the shadows. the sculptures are available in hexagonal or square formats, with clear, grey or bronze mirror colors on solid birch frames.
