‘p8’ portable media player by south korea-based consumer electronics company iriver features a mac OS-like interface of widgets and a dock, through which users can access a range of video, audio, and photo formats and entertainment needs.

featuring a 5-inch touchscreen, the device is designed foremost to play HD video, at 800×480 on its own screen or connected through HDMI to a larger monitor. supported file formats include not only AVI and WMV but also hobbyist types like MKV and XviD; likewise, supported audio files range from MP3, WAV, and WMA to OGG, FLAC, and APE. equipped with FM radio, the ‘p8’ also permits photo viewing, e-book reading, and voice memo recording.

set to be first available only in russia, the ‘p8’ is produced in an 8GB and 16GB model, both supporting microSDHC cards of up to an additional 32 GB. it measures 145 x 54.5 x 13.8mm and weighs 227g.
