‘repeat’ by jesse resnick

jesse resnick recent graduate of parsons school of design has sent in images of his  recent project ‘repeat’.

‘repeat’ is an early-intervention tool for mid to high functioning autistic children that targets one of the most prevalent issues in the autistic community – repetitive behaviours. common behaviours include head banging, arm flapping, rocking, and/or squeezing. repeat provides the student with a less distracting, less harmful alternative to these behaviours. it is soft and stretchy, and can be tugged on, rubbed, squeezed, or bitten. students are taught to use repeat for short timed intervals, as indicated by led lights. an integrated counter also records each time the timer is set, providing an opportunity for goal setting.
