detail showing the use of plastic bottles and PVC pipe

the ‘ugly duckling project ‘ by hong kong-based designer kamric to draws on the literary fairy tale by author hans christian andersen which the story tells of an ugly young duckling who matures into a swan.

to’s interpretation utilizes PVC pipe, a material which is often leftover from construction or renovation. he re-purposes the pipe, in combination with discarded plastic bottles to create table lamps. the form which the PVC pipe and plastic bottle are meant to resemble in a way, the neck and head of a swan. the result is a light which is aesthetically appealing, even though it is made from ugly materials.
