malcolm fontier: how to design a logo in 30 seconds

lifestyle accessories brand malcolm fontier produced this humorous reenactment of
the design process behind their double rectangle logo.

'the video is a fun, 'mostly accurate', recap of the design process behind our logo.
creating new product concepts or graphic pieces rarely goes this smoothly for us or other designers.
since this was a rare example of a design project that went unusually well, we wanted to capture the story…
you might call it 'how to design a logo in 30 seconds'.

- gabrielle kennedy / co-founder of malcolm fontier.

is this for real?
gg   07.12.11
Ummm. If only you'd spent more time on the logo, and less time creating the video.

This has got to be the most half-assed thing i've ever encountered.

Works for me when embroidered but not quite as strong when printed.

Deep into the 21st Century and there are still people out there who can't find that elusive caps lock key.

It undervalues what graphic designers do for a living. There's nothing "elaborate" about the design, and it doesn't reflect their brand promise. In fact I'd suggest some people will think it's just extra stitching and not realise it is a brand.
BS   07.17.11
I liked it!
Leeya   07.17.11
I think it is nice looking and functional.

Only if you're bold enough...

Creativity knows no schools ... If we rely on what we learn we would create what has always been created. Pretty interesting.
