'stoop bench' by josh owen

american designer josh owen designed 'stoop bench' made from out
of DuPont Corian®, which is currently on display during designphiladelphia,
at various locations in the city center.

C.H. Briggs, a local interior and specialty building products distributor, has partnered
with DuPont to challenge a variety philadelphia-area architects and designers to create
inventive and contemporary seating made entirely of DuPont Corian.

philadelphia is a city of stoop dwellers. the townhouses that line the streets
of center city and the myriad surrounding neighborhoods all have stoops.
with this in mind owen came up with of the idea of moving the 'stoop' off the typical
urban grid and applying them to a park or perhaps districts with no stoops.
