last year, at the qingdao beer festival in shandong, china, 1,007 robots danced their way to a world record. twelve months later, the record has been broken again in china, where 1,069 synchronized machines — who were perfectly aligned — performed a flawless and jaw-dropping choreography. set along a square in guangzhou, guangdong, the army of robots achieved this thanks to WL intelligent technology co. ltd, the ones in charge of the demonstration.

the challenge was organized by WL tech to demonstrate their latest robotic technology. named ‘gobi’, the robots were all programmed via one group control system. the performance was almost perfect as some robots fell down during the dynamic show — the fallen robots were deducted from the final record total. as well as having the ability to dance, the dobi robots can talk, do tai chi, and many other human-like actions.

  • Nah, that’s not dancing. Might be dad-dancing rooted to the spot, but not the real Shikoku.
