I still have one (two actually, three if you count my 4-track). I think the best use would be in the car. I know at least a few ppl who haven't upgraded their auto-audio.

Don't write off tape just yet . . .
I predict a resurgence of tape (esp. 4/8 track reel-to-reel) in a few years time that will rival the current resurgence of vinyl records.

This is actually quite a neat device as it is closer to the true essence of multi-format - your can share your music via the card & your music can be listened to using a variety of devices;

headphones;
USB connection to home theatre;
USB connection to PC;
USB connection to Car audio;

and when you are driving your mum's old car, that still has the factory fitted cassette deck you can still enjoy your tunes.

The only real problem with this idea is that someone will pick it up and insist on replacing the wired connections with BLUETOOTH which will make it completely unfit for the real problem it solves - making sounds available on legacy devices that still function.
