the house situated on lake garda, italy

located on lake garda in italy, 'sun slice house' is an italian weekend house that was built for an italian lighting
company owner and his family. the weekend house is organized by frame slices. natural light and how they
change a space throughout the day and year is the main emphasis of the house. to create this effect,
house is made up of strategically cut, rectangles which have been sliced in such a way that they play with the
sunlight that streams through the house. simple cubic volumes form the base of the house's geometry,
thus putting more focus on the bends and changes in the strips of sunlight.

the house is a steel framed, concrete structure which is skinned with an alloy of copper, steel, chromium
and nickel, which weathers down to a leathery, rusted, red color. the interior spaces are simply plastered white,
with terrazzo floors on the ground level and bamboo floors on the upper level. natural ventilation,
along with geothermal heating and cooling are part of the home's energy plan.
