graft architects created 'monument of unity' an installation aimed to unite different
areas of germany. the concept using 'flying flag'. the 'flying flag' is a matrix of semi -
impact air motion modules from one to four per cubic meter capacity planned over
the solvable couplings together.
the colors and their meaning is germany’s 'monument to unity'. they float weightlessly
over the country without being fixed to a pole, a building, or a specific place. looking
up into the sky, the moment of reunification is revived, the inconceivable and noble
nature of this moment returns—returns as the incomprehensible flotation of the flag.
it can wander, it can dance above the country. although it can pause, it is not a fixed
place.
it can stretch itself and form a solid canopy over places of memory, marking the felicity
of the reunion all over germany. it can follow the reunification festivities held festivities
held in a different german city every year. once a month it will return to the brandenburg
gate, the most prominent symbol of the german reunification.
the flag is a medium for the invisible feeling of unification, expressing the overwhelming
mania of that moment. this entity is not static, but a moving flag.
