ding3000: join table

'join table' by ding3000
continuing their exploration of the ancient japanese game in which three sticks are joined by a square knot -
first applied in their 'join cutlery' - german design studio ding3000 has pushed the concept further in the form of 'join table'.
three different cut outs, subtracted from the wooden legs fit into each other, providing structural stability without any tools,
by means of the simple enigmatic principle of the slightly transformed devil's knot. the low side table is made from
oak wood and glass and measures W75 x H40 x D75cm. 'join table' is being presented at ICFF new york 2011
as part of the 'design deutschland' exhibition.
the legs are made from oak wood topped with a circular piece of glass
three different cut outs are the core of the joining principle of 'join table'
