daniel libeskind: arduino tower

arduino tower by daniel libeskind

plans were recently unveiled for daniel libeskind's arduino residential tower in milan, italy.
the project is part of the 'citylife' plan to transform the site of the former milan fairgrounds
into a residential neighbourhood which will also include a children's museum,
a convention centre and a museum of contemporary art also designed by libeskind.

the tower will overlook piazzale arduino, will cover an area of 14,200 square meters
and will house 80 apartments spread over 26 floors.

archi-sarcastic   01.13.10

sf   01.13.10
i'd say i threw up in my mouth, but it's actually all over my desk.
barney magilikoti   01.13.10
no no... it's a joke... I hope it's a fake...
kaius   01.13.10
Horrible. Too ugly. Vertigo! I say no.
alexandre bigaiski   01.13.10
THIS IS NOT LIBESKIND!!!!
t   01.13.10
terrible!!!

Just the latest in a long line of crab from those clowns in Studio Daniel Libeskind. (At least the name of the firm acknowledges that they are NOT architects.)
Mark Rayburn, Ohio   01.13.10
It looks the sort of project that was designed by a 2nd year student in a provincial college in Taiwan. Even the cheesy rendering is a lame joke.
Kai Nygay   01.13.10
Don't understand what everyone is on about...it's brilliant! A garden on the 20th floor? Where do sign up?
What's the fuss?   01.13.10
don't want to come home drunk to this...
sam   01.13.10
terrible! I do not want them in Milan
giuseppe   01.13.10
Looks like Russian housing project from 1960. I thought we passed over 'Tower In Park' ideology. Was bad idea for slum anyhow.
Karla   01.13.10
I thought iI stopped dropping acid!
patric   01.13.10
Basically it is a dumb developer-style balcony tower with a corny twist added to make up for the total lack of serious design. Libeskind is only fooling himself (and his equally foolish staff) if he thinks this garbage is architecture. He has become the world's most visible "hack" architect.
George   01.13.10
No architect could have done this. (It must be Nina Libeskind's work, or maybe one of the office cleaning staff drew it as a joke.)
Rob   01.13.10
Very beautiful !
lolo   01.13.10
Based on his history, I'd guess that Libeskind spent 3 minutes thinking about this project, quickly sketched some convoluted shapes on a napkin and left some junior to figure it out. Then he sent the whole crazy thing off to a one-hour rendering firm in Korea and it's done. - The man is a genius!!
Antonio   01.13.10
Unless Libeskind's interns are planning a career in comedy, I wouldn't plan on putting this ridiculous looking thing in their portfolios ......
Kevin Ryall   01.14.10
Libeskind may be in the public eye due to his manipulation of the media, but he is the world's most visible commercial-grade hack. This ridiculous building is low-grade, low-class crap-itecture. It has no place on a web-site about DESIGN.
Elroy   01.14.10
This is the sort of building you see in an Atari computer game, where some kid designing the program thinks he knows something about architecture. Embarrassing really.
Cy   01.14.10
It's still just another tower block whatever the shape, and the inhabitants won't know their neighbours. Another filing cabinet for humans.
Finlay   01.16.10
Libeskind has gone from bad to worse to appalling. This is what happens when an office and all of the projects are run by a bunch of CAD flunkies with no real world experience. The blind are leading the blind.
Benson   01.17.10
q asco por dios...
jic   01.18.10
it makes me sick... no city deserves such thing... y feel sorry for milan... hope it never gets built
mmder   01.19.10
i was a big fan of his work until this...i think i just threw up in my mouth.../klon
klon   01.19.10
I quite like it, is it just me then ?
menno   01.19.10
Superb! Beats a regular 'square' tower block any day.
