JDS architects: experiencing the void

architecture turned into enjoyment and participation.
instead of contemplating the void of the guggenheim museum's central space,
JDS architects
have proposed an experience which sees a trampoline net spiraling down
the institution's rotunda. this idea plays on frank lloyd wright's original scenography
for the guggenheim in which he envisioned patrons visiting the exhibition from the top,
downwards.

Bad photoshop yo.
Hunter   02.08.10
What a wonderful idea!
leowmc   02.08.10
come on Hunter, whatever you think about the idea, the photoshop is pretty well done...
and personally quite a fan of the idea too..
allsorts   02.08.10
absolutely fantastic - tell me when it is up and will have to go to NYC - brilliant
TS   02.08.10
it's a wonderful ski-piste how about the lift?
nadiali   02.08.10
Absolutely cool idea, I pretty like that.
cool888   02.08.10
That would be so much fun. However I would guess the potential liability insurance requirements means it wouldn't actually ever happen.
Snufkin   02.08.10
It would very fitting for the guggenheim, though I don't see how it would help people view the galleries from top to bottom, since you couldn't see the galleries from the net. Anyway, almost everyone starts at the top and works their way down, because otherwise you're walking a long way up hill. But with the net, you'd feel encouraged to walk up and take the net down, encouraging fitness, but not Frank Lloyd Wright's vision.
Celeste   02.08.10
ugh it annoys me how poorly photoshopped this is.
akhoun   02.08.10
construct a small prism that would change during each day with the direction of sunlight. Some interactive program that could enable you to ride a sunbeam in this context!
LILY   02.09.10
nice idea but..u have the worst photoshop i'd ever seen... u chose to crop the wrong people..like they're on the bbeach and the rest are like office people..doesnt match
LOL   02.09.10
C'mon, why gripe about the photoshop? The focus should be on the idea, which is really cool in transforming the void into a big playground.
leowmc   02.09.10
Death net 2010.

Headlines read: "Guggenheim nets lawsuit" after patrons fall, bounce to their death.

I think your feet would be stuck in those triangular holes, especially if they are that big!!
drilon   02.09.10
hahahaha..omg..that is a one bad photoshop
roxy   02.09.10
yeah, im agree with leowmc.. the idea is pretty cool. please dont talk about the photoshop, its just a software, a lill bit more exercise, and u'll have one great photoshop.
peekaboo   02.10.10
Guys! Enjoy the ideas in this competition and look at the larger picture. It is a game, be playful!
Countcero   02.13.10
Fun!
@ir   02.13.10
I am pretty sure this is a law suit waiting to happen but nice idea!
velvet Valentine   02.13.10
I think this is very clever and very wonderful use of imagination.....I think it would be exciting to use net as a stairway instead of stairs.....just the walk up or down would be an experience.....kind of like a moon walk....only brighter.....VERY COOL
